Scarf

Spring is officially here, but some days are still so cold! The only good thing about it is that I can still wear layers and scarves! I love wearing multiple layers on (a tee, sweater, or cardigan, then jacket or a blazer) and take them off one by one if I start feeling warm throughout the day. I love the vibrancy of the colors in this Zara plaid scarf. It attracts attention and your eye immediately goes to it. And even though the colors may feel more fall than spring, I really don't care haha! Check out some other scarves I discussed here.

Wearing: Forever21 tee; Helmut Lang pants; Zara scarf (check out this floral one; this one from Anthropologie is so beautiful!)

Cape jacket again!

This cape Mackage jacket again but this time with a crisp white button down shirt and a denim jacket underneath for an extra layer. This could also be a perfect conservative pairing for work, minus the jeans. I have been a huge fan of Mackage but it's a bit pricey for me; I was lucky to find this cape jacket at TJ Maxx a long time ago for a fraction of the cost. Whenever I wear it, I always get a lot compliments. It seems to be a very basic jacket, but really the cape detail provides such interest and uniqueness. I linked an affordable red one here; this J.Crew one is pretty amazing too (comes in black and camel)!

Wearing: Mackage jacket; Asos shirt; Michael Kors denim jacket; Maison Scotch jeans; Sam Edelman shoes; Zara bag.

High-low

This top has been a favorite of mine from day one! Bought on Asos.com a long time ago, and really I've had it for so many years and still love it! It is casual enough if you pair it with jeans or sweatpants even, and yet can look sophisticated and polished if you pair it with a button down shirt underneath. Worn with some really basic bottoms (jeans, cargo pants, anything really) you are guaranteed a more elevated look thanks to the uneven hem and the high neck. It really transforms any look and adds a bit of interest. I cannot tell you how many times I wore this top and it washes really well too. Just recently I have been wearing it to work (corporate world), styled exactly like in the pictures, with a button down shirt. It may seem too casual for some for a work environment, but that's just me trying to push the work-attire envelope :)

Wearing: Asos top (old, but similar here); old button down shirt bought at Loehmann's; Helmut Lang pants; Sam Edelman ankle booties.
