The chunkiest of all chunky scarves

Truly the chunkiest of all chunky scarves! It's a monster, but so warm! The colors are absolutely perfect, picking up all the beautiful colors of the fall leaves all around us. I wanted to keep the look quite simple and in agreement with the scarf color-wise, with the exception of the boots, which are in a great burgundy, fall color, yes, but they still stand out as the rest of the look is very brown/ beige oriented. I added a white button down shirt for a touch of chic; I love how oversize it is and that I can tuck it in loosely for a cool, laid-back look. I hope you all have a great Friday and weekend!
Wearing: Zara scarf  (old from last year, but love the colors of this Asos one); Zara biker jacket (old, but similar New Look here via asos.com and here by LC Lauren Conrad at Kohl's); Asos white button down shirt (old, but almost an identical Asos here); H&M pants (sold out, but similar Asos here); Tom's oxblood 'Majorca' booties.

Asymmetry is such a great feature and one of my favorite details in clothing! I see something asymmetrical and immediately I want it haha! This black Nasty Gal top is so simple really, if you think about it, but the asymmetrical draping on one side and a cut out on the other is what makes it so interesting. Great for layering with so many different items; I am thinking even with a crisp white button down underneath for an unexpected and cool look. I layered mine with a mesh tank top in a different color, such that the lines wouldn't blend in and you could really see the shape of this top. On a different note - we took these pictures when it was still hot out and today almost feels like winter in Chicago! Ouch!

Wearing: Nasty Gal black top (sold out; here is a very similar Asos one); Free People tank top (sold out, but this one is very similar and also by Free People; I like this Free People one too and it's on sale); Anine Bing jeans (old, but I love these by H&M!); Jeffrey Campbell lace-up sandals; Madewell bag.

Matchy matchy

A very casual look today - I have been wearing these lightweight Forever21 pants practically all summer, on and off paired with different tops and shoes. Nothing more casual and comfy than a simple t-shirt and Converse sneakers added to the mix, right? And so this casual look will make sure you are comfortable, but stylish, all day long!
I had posted on Instagram some pictures of this new (used) bag of mine by 3.1 Phillip Lim that I got on TheRealReal.com. The pattern happens to be very similar to the pants pattern, so I had to title this post 'Matchy matchy' (wink wink!). The concept of TheRealReal is that you can buy pre-owned designer items (for much, much less!), but don't think that you buy truly 'used' items with visible signs of wear, because this bag IS like new! No signs of being used at all whatsoever! This is the third time I got a pre-owned bag on this website and I was never disappointed.

Wearing: Old Navy tee (on sale!); Forever21 pants (old, but these Old Navy are similar, come in two colors, and are only for less than $12); Converse high-tops; 3.1 Phillip Lim via The Real Real; Anarchy Street 'Tribal Horn' necklace (use code MONIKA_G20 for a 20% discount).

Bell sleeves

Today's post is all about this bell sleeve top I got on Shopbop.com. It is such a showstopper! Not only those bell sleeves grab attention, but also the intricacy of the lace and how beautifully detailed it is! I wore it a few weekends ago for a date night with my husband, but I think I might wear it to the office as well (my office's dress code is not as conservative). Pair it with a killer pencil skirt or even a full skirt (but be careful with proportions) and you've got yourself a great office look. I also love the billowy effect of the top as it pulls away from my body and is more flowy rather than body hugging (you know I love flowy and loose clothing!).
Hope you guys have a great Wednesday and thanks for visiting!
Wearing: Endless Rose top via Shopbop.com (linked a white one, as black is sold out; but this Asos black top is pretty special too); Gap jeans (old, but these are similar and also by Gap); Liz Claiborne bag (old); Banana Republic sandals (sold out, but these are very similar and at a great price point).

Ruffle top

Happy Wednesday!! Today's post is short and sweet and all about this fun ruffle top by Asos! Isn't it so unexpected, even though ruffles are nothing new? It's the placement of them along the shoulders that was so interesting to me. The fabric is super soft and comfortable. I can picture so many other ways in which this top can be styled and in all those different outfits it will definitely be that one piece that immediately grabs attention. It is currently on sale, so hurry!
Wearing: Asos top (on sale for $23!); H&M jeans (mine are sold out unfortunately, even though I got them about a week ago, but here is a similar pair); Nine West block heel slingbacks (old, but similar pumps here and here); DKNY bag (old).

A little throwback with this look that I shot a few weekends ago (when it was still a hundred degrees outside!). How fun is this print? Of course this mustard yellow color (my favorite!) is not too shabby either. I first saw it on Mary from happilygrey.com where she styled it with a sweatshirt top and white sneakers. She looked amazing and inspired me, but I styled mine differently, although I think it's just as casual. It's a lot of fabric, so be careful and think about proportions. I wanted to wear heels with it to make me look longer and leaner, but if you have a tiny frame, sneakers will look great! This skirt, by Ann Taylor, is sold out unfortunately, but I found one on Ebay and linked it below.
Happy Friday everyone!

Wearing: Ann Taylor pineapple skirt (sold out, but here it is on Ebay); H&M white tee; Qupid sandals.
Check out these great items with pineapple print: sweatshirt; blouse; tank top.

White after Labor Day

I have owned these white Gap pants for the longest time, and only recently have been wearing them a lot (as much as wearing white around small kids is even possible haha). I love the black zippers that add so much edge and visual interest. They become very 'rock' paired with the right pieces. Here, I went for a simple look, but paired with a killer leather jacket and some stilettos will definitely become more edgy. I love how they're not too tight in my butt, but rather, they are a little slouchy and then slim along the legs (my favorite pants style, which I had mentioned before). I kept everything else simple here, added a black top to pick the color of the zippers, and added those burgundy booties that I have been wearing non stop anyways, so why not one more time? :)

Wearing: Asos top; Gap pants (old, but these Vero Moda  pants via Asos.com are similar and on sale for $39!); Tom's ankle booties; handmade wristlet bag via Etsy; Anarchy Street 'Bite Me' necklace and 'Hello' necklace (20% off with code MONIKA_G20).
