That red bikini top perfect for layering

I recently posted a photo of this red scalloped bikini top on my Instagram page (here) and I am still SO obsessed with it. I knew the minute I saw it on Asos.com that I would wear it not as a bikini top, but rather as a bra top with a deep V neck tee. I love layering with bra tops, which I had mentioned before on a few occasions (I will also have a blog post up sometime soon devoted to that subject). They add such a nice flair to any look, and with a vibrant color like this one here, all you need is a very basic outfit to let the bra top shine. This red is just gorgeous and the scalloped edge takes it to the next  level.

Wearing: Missguided scalloped top (also similar here and here); H&M tee (old, similar here and here); Forever21 long cardigan (old, similar here and here); Asos pants; Target ankle boots (old, similar here and here).

Camo

Camo may not be the first pattern that comes to mind when you think about shoes... but somehow it works! It does work in the case of these pony hair camo ankle boots and it does work on other shoe styles. There are no rules when it comes to fashion anymore, so literally anything goes. Check out some other great camo options that I have linked below.

Purple peplum tee

This purple peplum tee is basic and not so basic all at the same time. I love the peplum detail, which adds something special to this top, but it's basic enough that it's still in that can-wear-it-with-everything-in-my-closet category. Many more colors are available and it's only $24, so guys hurry up and snatch it. Tees are a must and I am convinced that we all wear them all summer long (and dare I say all year long!)

Wearing: Truly Madly Deeply peplum tee; DKNY moto jacket (very old, similar here and here); G-Star jeans (old, similar here and here); Qupid shoes (old, similar here and here); Rag & Bone crossbody bag (sold out, similar Rag & Bone here, more affordable here); Etsy earrings.

Purple check

Warmer temperatures arrived, so I am taking advantage of that by wearing lighter coats and happy colors. I am sure those warmer days are only temporary (as it is only February), but I am seizing the moment! Check coat is a staple for sure, but one in a bright or unexpected color will definitely be that one piece in your closet that everyone notices and compliments on. I love standing out in a crowd and that does not mean you need to spent big bucks. This coat is very similar to one Zara had a few seasons ago (quite frankly, I liked Zara's version better as far as the silhouette, but it was sold out before I could get it), but was so much cheaper than Zara's, so I couldn't complain there. Do you love check coats as much as I do? Most people might say that check pattern is more fall than any other season, but I say who cares? Just have fun with it!

Wearing: JollyChic coat (old, similar herehere and here); Monki jeans (sold out, similar here and here); Vince ankle boots (old, similar here, more affordable here and here); DKNY bag (old, similar here); Charlotte Russe scarf (old, similar here and here).

Blue bomber jacket

This week has been all over the place for us and I still can't get my stuff together. For one, our older son got sick at the beginning of the week, then myself and my husband were sick all at the same time.   That alone was tough. I stayed home sick most of the week and only went to work one day, and all in all it's been a weird week not knowing what day it was any given day. We're finally better and tomorrow we're celebrating our younger son's 2nd birthday. Yay!
Anyways, this blue bomber jacket caught my eye because I loved that particular shade of blue; so vibrant and happy looking. Did I need another bomber jacket? Probably not, but hey, it only cost around $20 so I didn't think too long before I got it! It's lined with faux shearling so it's very warm and cozy and definitely more suited for colder weather.

Wearing: Missguided bomber jacket (also similar here and here); H&M tee; Anine Bing jeans (old, similar here and here); Converse Chuck Taylor high top sneakers.

Those leggings

You guys, hell just froze over because I finally did it! Went to my first yoga class a couple of weeks ago. Yup! I have been trying to do it for the last few years quite frankly and I am so happy I finally did. I am not a gym person at all, but I love riding a bike, which is put on hold in the wintertime, so I had to come up with something to do in the meantime that would keep me active. The only condition that I set for myself was that I find a place/classes to which I can go to past my kids bedtime. I didn't want to miss anymore time with them (being a working mom I always feel guilty when I am away from them on top of being away at work), so the classes needed to start when my boys are both asleep or at least in their beds. I found a local place I am pretty happy with so far. One way to stay motivated exercising are of course cute athletic clothes. These leggings right here are so pretty I can't even being to tell you how much I love them. I first saw them on another bloggers's website and went for them immediately. They are so soft that I actually had no idea that leggings fabric could be this soft. So happy with them! Hopefully knowing that I get to wear these pretties to my yoga classes will keep me motivated and wanting to stay active.

Wearing: Marks & Spencer leggings; Converse gray leather sneakers (old, similar here and here); Nasty Gal sweater (old, similar here and here); H&M tee.

Red bow pumps & jean jacket

These red bow pumps again, because they are so good! And, perfect for a Valentine's Day dinner or any fun night out with your girlfriends. I love how they pop against the gray jeans and against the background color. They definitely have become a special pair of shoes in my closet. They draw and demand attention so any, even the most basic, outfit can be transformed into a special one thanks to these. Hope you're having a great Saturday and thanks for visiting!

Wearing: Nine West pumps (sold out, almost identical here and here); Monnari scarf (very old, similar here); Michael Kors denim jacket (old, similar here and here); H&M tee; Anine Bing jeans (old, similar here); Rag & Bone cross body bag (sold out, similar Rag & Bone here, affordable here); nail color OPI 'Siberian Nights'.

Perfume

Today I wanted to share one of my favorite perfumes with you - 1842 Rosa Alba by Happ & Stahns. I am not adventurous when it comes to perfumes at all. I regularly use maybe 3 or 4 (that have been my favorites for years) and I rarely get anything new, despite the fact that I read about perfumes and fold the corners of a magazine to maybe someday try a new one haha! But his one here captured my heart instantly the second I smelled it at a local Anthropologie store. Its main notes are pink pepper, Darjeeling tea, grapefruit, wisteria, Alba roses, cashmere musk and amber wood. My favorite perfumes are those that are very woody or include fig extracts, and this one definitely ticks one of the boxes for me, despite the fact that its main notes are all very fresh and flowery. Not to mention that the bottle and the box are the most beautiful and whimsical things ever, wouldn't you agree?

Black & white stripes

A casual and an all gray look today. I love a pop of color, but today I wanted to go towards a calmer color palette and there is nothing more calm than gray. Every now and then I crave wearing basics and that is true for the color as well as the style of the clothes. Nothing more basic than a pair of jeans, a knit, and a blazer. My flats and the printed bag elevate my look a little bit. I love the striped, black & white sole on these flats and the bag introduces a touch of color and pattern. I hope you guys enjoy this post and thanks for visiting!

Wearing: Mango flats (old, similar here); 3.1 Phillip Lim bag (mine is also via The Real Real); H&M blazer coat (old, similar here and here); Shein sweater (old, similar here and here); Anine Bing jeans (old, similar here); Etsy earrings.

Beanie

In today's post I am wearing those Celine ankle peep toes again... sorry :/ I am like a broken record; when I love something, I will wear it to death haha! I got them on TheRealReal.com for a fraction of the cost (which doesn't mean they were super cheap, but definitely cost a lot less). LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them! Alright, enough about the shoes and let's acknowledge the fact that I am wearing a hat. Yes, a hat, which never happens. I have never been a hats person, since I remember actually, but then I saw this bright orange across the store and wanted to know what it was. So, I approach the shelf and it's a hat, which at first was a disappointment to me, but then I thought to give it a shot. It's super soft and I love the color, and I actually already wore it a few times, because, let's face it, we live in Chicago! Anyways, hope you guys enjoy my post today and thanks for visiting.

Wearing: American Eagle beanie (via TJ Maxx, sold out, similar here and here); Celine ankle peep toe (via The Real Real but sold out, similar here and here); Zara sweater; Maison Scotch jeans (old, similar here, here and here); LaRedoute faux fur jacket (very old, similar here and here).
