Long striped T-shirt dress

This long T-shirt dress is my go to if I need to wear something comfy but not boring. The length alone is quite versatile as I can let it loose and wear it as a dress or knot it on the side (like you see here) and make it be a little shorter like a tunic. The V neck lets me layer on a bra top underneath (which I LOVE doing!) and to me that is the best feature of this T-shirt dress. Here, I opted for a monochromatic color palette, but if I wore a different colored bra top underneath, I would have had a completely different look. Wear it with bare legs or with jeans or however you see fit. Again, versatile! I hope you like what I did here and as always thank you so much for visiting!

Wearing: Nasty Gal striped T-shirt dress (old, similar here and love this Asos one); Asos lace bra top (old, similar here and here); Anine Bing jeans (sold out, similar Anine Bing here and more affordable here); Zara bag (old, similar here); L.A.M.B. sandals (old, similar here and love these silver metallic Kenneth Cole).

Not your typical ruffle

I will make today's post short and sweet as I'm sure most of you (including me) will have an early start to a long Memorial Day weekend and no one, frankly, will want to read a long post haha! I am obsessed with this yellow (duh!) ruffled blouse by Asos! I got it a long time ago and loved it at first, then didn't wear it at all for a couple or so years, and now I want to wear it all the time! The ruffle alone is very unique, because it is not your typical ruffle style you see everywhere now, but rather one that crosses the torso diagonally and creates a great visual effect. I also love the cinched high neck. Something to be overlooked by many, but to me it stood out immediately. Alright, I said short and sweet, so I'll leave it at that... Hope everyone has a great long weekend and thank you for visiting!

Wearing: Asos ruffle top (old, similar Asos here, here and how unique is this one?); G-Star jeans (similar here and here); Sam Edelman ankle peep toe booties (old, similar herehere and here).

Denim shirt

My go to shirt, when I need to wear a light layer, is this Asos denim shirt I got a while back. I fell in love with the distressed effect on it. In person it is even better; it is so well made, I love the thick stitching and after having been washed so many times it maintains its quality very well. Seriously, I probably wear it too often, I'll admit. I love a laid back style (which I have said time and time again) and what you see here truly is what I love wearing the most. A cool pair of sneakers, skinny jeans that fit like a glove and layers at the top. And of course, the devil is in the details, enter the cool design of these Diesel sneakers and a great pop of color via my cross body bag. Hope you like this post and thank you for visiting!

Wearing: Asos denim shirt (old, similar here and here); Asos ombre tee (similar here); Anine Bing jeans (similar here and similar Anine Bing here); Diesel sneakers (old, my style in khaki here, in light blue here, in white here and in blue here); H&M cross body bag (only $24.99!).

Red pumps & a bow tie

I love taking a simple look and elevating it into a more sophisticated one. There is nothing more crisp and simple than a white button down shirt, but I added the black bow tie and I think it looks so much more interesting. I love the sharp contrast between black and white, and with the red in the shoe and the background, the whole look becomes a bold one despite the fact that the pieces I am wearing are basics that everyone has in their closets. That's the thing about basics - they can be worn in so many different ways if we just change up the accessories. Hope you like this look as much as I do and thank you for visiting.

Wearing: Aldo pumps (Aldo is currently having a buy one pair & get another pair 40% off sale on all footwear!); Free People shirt (old, similar here and here); Asos black bow tie; G-Star jeans (similar here); Asos sunglasses (old, similar here).

Orange, floral & embroidered

How amazing is this embroidered bomber jacket? AND it's orange AND floral! Doesn't get much better than that. Definitely a statement piece that demands attention. I plan on wearing it all throughout the summer as it's super lightweight. I love that the orange is not very bright, but rather subdued, almost a burnt orange color. I kept the rest of my look minimal and I hope you like it. I usually write longer posts but I am at a loss for words at the moment haha, so I will just leave you with today's photos and as always, thank you so much for visiting!

Wearing: Anthropologie bomber jacket (similar here and similar Anthropologie here); Mango jeans (old, similar here and here); H&M tee; Trouve sandals (similar here and I love these).

Double ruffle slides

Hope all you mommas out there had a great Mother's Day today! I definitely felt loved and my two little guys didn't disappoint but after an eventful day I am exhausted!
Today I wanted to share this simple look (nothing simpler than a pair of jeans and a tee, right?) but elevated thanks to these two-tone suede ruffle slides by Urban Outfitters. They are so adorable I can't stand it! They also come in a black-blue version, but I fell in love with this color combo of an adorable blush pink & burgundy. They are still in stock and linked below. One great statement piece like that and the most basic outfit is transformed into a memorable one.
Hope you like it and thank you so much for visiting!

Wearing: Urban Outfitters suede ruffle slides (plus, similar here); H&M white tee; Mango jeans (similar Mango here); H&M scarf (old, similar here and here); Zara bag (similar here).

Pocket detail

First post after I changed the name of my blog to 'some pop of color'... Well, those that have been following me thus far might have noticed that I love a pop of color (any color, but especially red). I enjoy a vibrant color on a shoe, a bag or a scarf, but I do also love wearing color as a full look. As much as I love an all black look, I gravitate towards colors just as much. So after thinking about re-focusing my blog for awhile, I finally did it. I changed my blog's name and I couldn't be happier with my decision. It truly represents me, because I can't see myself escaping color anytime soon haha!

Today, a post that is all about this Zara white button down shirt with a colorful (surprise, surprise!) pocket print. I love this quirky detail, slightly off to the side. It brings so much edge to a classic white shirt. Hope you like my blog's new name and thanks so much for visiting!

Wearing: Zara shirt; G-Star jeans (similar G-Star here and more affordable here); Zara pumps (similar here).
