Floral + high low

One of my prized possessions is this top (is that OK to say about a piece of clothing? haha)! It's super old, but I remember when I got it because I was obsessed with a high-low hem at that time. And while I still like this type of hem, I cherish the floral print more now than the style of the hem itself. I love how sophisticated it feels, because the collar adds a classic element, but the print and the high-low design make it an edgy street wear. I wanted to pair it with equally easy pieces, so I put on my Mango jeans with a skewed zipper closure and some ankle peep toe booties. To tie it all together I added my new black straw boater hat, which I absolutely love! Hats are still growing on me. I literally maybe own 3 or 4 total (and that includes 1 beanie hat, 2 straw hats for summer and... that's it! OK, so I own 3 hats total! haha). I hope you like this post as much as I do and thank you for visiting!

Yellow lace dress

Asos to the rescue, always! I needed a dress to wear to a wedding just recently (OK, maybe not 'needed' haha, but 'wanted' a new dress) and where else to go and find one if not via Asos? Seriously, this website has been my go to for years now, so why not hunt for a wedding appropriate dress as well? I have to say that Loehmann's has been my go to when we still had them in Illinois, enter a weeping face, because they're all gone now...
Anyways, I wanted a vibrant color, because if I am buying a new dress, it better not be in black or in a color I already own, otherwise how do I justify yet another purchase, right? So I immediately searched for a yellow or orange dress because I wanted my dress to stand out. I had a few picks, but ultimately it came down to this one and I did not regret this choice a bit! I love the pink underlay, which peeks through the lace and adds that extra dimension to it. Side note, I hope you're not blinded by my pale legs and shoulders haha! Hope you like this post and as always, thank you for visiting!

Gingham dress

Is anyone sick of gingham yet? Haha! I am not, but I am asking this question because it is such a huge trend right now that whether you like this print or not, it will grow on you, trust me! I was definitely not into it at first, but when you're seeing so many variations of it, one day you look at it differently and think 'I actually like it!' haha. True story. This dress charmed me with the ties on the back - they are so interesting and I like how they look against bare skin. I feel like there are no styling rules anymore, so wear this dress with heels, flats or white sneakers and it will look just as great. Hope your Monday was great and thank you for visiting!

Pencil skirt I can wear on the weekends

Because I have to maintain two separate wardrobes - one with regular clothes and one with clothes appropriate for a corporate office - I like to mix the two as much as I can to get more bang for my buck. Of course I own items that I would never wear to the office and vice versa, but some items are versatile enough that I can mix and match them and create outfits I can wear to work and outside of work. Such is the case with this pencil skirt. It's dressy, yes, but I think it looks casual enough paired with a basic tee, that I can get away with wearing it over the weekend. Put on some sneakers and I am set haha! Here, I am wearing ankle peep toe booties which are just as casual and comfy. I hope you like this post and thank you for visiting!

Wearing: Anthropologie skirt (old, similar here, here and here); H&M white tee; Target ankle booties (black & cognac).

One shoulder + ruffles

Adoring this ruffled, one shoulder top! But the thing that captured me the most is the striped choker ribbon, something that may be overlooked by many, but the minute I saw it, I thought it was the cutest thing! I love the mix of the stripes on the ribbon with the pattern on the blouse; I just find it so enduring. When I got this top, I couldn't wait to immediately shoot some photos of it, so here we are... I see some versatility potential, even though it seems very chic and dressy at first, but I think it will look just as great with a causal pair of shorts and some sneakers. I am kind of at a loss for words haha so I will just leave you be and hope you enjoy this post!

Black & white

A basic black & white look today for all you minimalists out there! I have mentioned once or twice before that I wear very basic and monochromatic clothing to work, but today I also wanted to do one that is appropriate for after work and weekends. Is there anything more basic than a great fitting white tee? I think not! Wearing a skirt to run weekend errands or chase after kids can be just as comfortable as wearing jogger pants or leggings when you wear a skirt like mine. It drapes softly and is just below the knee length, which is my favorite length. On top of it, an uneven hem adds some visual interest. I hope you like it and thank you so much for visiting!

Wearing: H&M white tee; New Look skirt (via Asos; similar herehere and here); L.A.M.B. sandals (old, love these and these); Target hat (sold out, similar herehere and here); belief necklace.

Red sleeves

A pop of red today (hey, some pop of color, right? haha) via this fantastic Anthropologie top I got a year ago. I just wore this outfit on July 4th but later changed into flats as we took the boys for a city stroll to watch the fireworks. I adore those red sleeves here; the red is beautifully vibrant and the lace effect makes such an impact. In person and up close, the lace is gorgeous, truly! Otherwise, the style of this top is quite basic, but just shows you how a little goes a long way, because the sleeve detail makes this top so unique and eye catching. Alright, enough about the pop of red haha! I hope you all had a great 4th of July celebration!

Wearing: Anthropologie top (old, very similar here, here and here); Anine Bing jeans (similar Anine Bing here; other brands here and here); Target sandals.

Pleated midi skirt

One of my favorite pieces to date is this pleated midi skirt! I love those particular colors, the fact that it's very lightweight and pleated, on top of it. I remember when I first saw it I literally gasped and knew I had to have it! Yes, one of those moments haha! Pleats are very in right now, but it's the colors that I like the most here. I wanted my look to be simple so that nothing would contrast too much with the skirt... but then I thought 'why don't I wear my two-tone ruffle slides too?' and so here it is. I thought it would be too much (and some of you might think that), but to me it somehow works and the tones play off each other nicely. This skirt is a year old and sold out unfortunately, but I linked other great options below, so please check them out.

Wearing: Asos skirt (old, other great options hereherehere, and here); H&M tee; Urban Outfitters double ruffle slides (other great option here and here); a belief necklace.
