Investing in basics is always a good idea! I searched and searched for a perfect pair of leopard print ankle boots for a long time… perfect to my liking, which meant a pointy toe, calf hair (for the texture) and a very low block heel (not completely flat). And voila, who else if not Zara just released a new fall collection and these ankle boots are what I was looking for!
Granted, these are boots you can only wear on a dry day, no snow, but we have plenty of those in the fall / winter time, so I should be able to get a good use out of them.
Here, I really am wearing basics but I am already planning on pairing these with bright colors and different patterns for a more edgy look. Stay tuned, I will have those looks come your way soon!
Do you like or dislike leopard print? I find myself loving it but only in small doses… a bag, shoes or maybe a scarf. Would love to hear your opinion on it; comment below!
Random life facts:
1. I am a sucker for a good romantic movie, but sometimes I want to watch something less mainstream and maybe something that is a little more ambitious, not your plain old rom-com or one that ends well. Although, hello ‘The Notebook’, my favorite happy-ending romantic movie. What I am getting at is that recently I watched one that is just the saddest love story ever but one that is just made so beautifully… ah, it stole my heart! It was ‘Suite Francaise’ with Michelle Williams and Matthias Schoenaerts… A movie that is an adaptation of a book with the same title set in the 1940s France, in a small town occupied by the German army during World War II. If that doesn’t scream a tragic and tumultuous love story right of the bat to you than I don’t know what is, right?
Funny that I had seen this movie about a year ago but I watched it and moved on and then I watched it again last week and I just can’t stop thinking about it. It really captured my heart and I highly, highly recommend it if you need a tear jerker. And believe you me, this one IS a true tear jerker!
