You know I am no stranger to striped sweaters! I mean… how many posts have I done in the past wearing a striped sweater LOL? Countless!
So I will say – never too many of those and the one you see today is a beauty, don’t you think? I just love the lilac color against that thin stripe of lime green/ yellow-ish looking color! Doesn’t it just POP?
My outfit today is hands down what you would see me wear to my day job (corporate world) – a sweater with a black slim pant and a pair of chic but comfortable pair of shoes. I really do wear black pants to work almost every day and the top is where I get more creative. If you need to dress conservatively to work but want to incorporate color into your attire, think colorful blouses or sweaters. It is so easy to keep one garment item steady and safe-ish (in my case: black pants) and be playful with what you wear on top or vice versa, if you prefer.
Ann Taylor head to toe & their HERLead initiative!
I feel privileged that Ann Taylor wanted to dress me head to toe for today’s post and I wanted to highlight an initiative that Ann Taylor and LOFT brands as well as Vital Voices had launched in 2011 –> the HERLead initiative. It is a program that supports and mentors women of the next generation and is dedicated to providing leadership skills and mentoring to remarkable girls who are making an impact in their communities.
The program is open for application from January 15 – March 8 to high school sophomores and juniors. 30 young women will be chosen for a fellowship where they will have access to training in leadership, access to mentors and grants to affect global progress and begin their journeys as the next generation of leaders. Doesn’t that sound incredible? If you know someone who might want to apply, do not hesitate and go to HerLead.VitalVoices.org to sign up!
The fellowship training will take place in New York City from June 24 to June 17, 2019.
So far, the program trained and mentored 310 fellows, awarded more than 246 project grants to young women across the country impacting more than 70,000 people in 21 countries!
**Thank you Ann Taylor for sponsoring this post.
