How to style a yellow coat with a purple beanie hat!

Owned this coat for a long while now and despite the fact that it’s such an intense color, I’ve mixed and matched it with so many other colors over the years. Here, the peach orange is somewhat in the same family of colors with the yellow but the purple sure isn’t and I love that contrast between yellow and lilac purple! I don’t think I’ve ever mixed these two together before!

It’s nothing new if I say that I am drawn to coats, blazers, jackets and any outerwear… and so if you’re the same as me and winters by you are awfully long, you probably get bored with all the black/ navy/ gray coats out there. If I had to wear a black coat everyday during winter, I would not last till the spring LOL (#firstworldproblems I know). I of course own classic style black coats and wear them, but I also need color in the wintertime to brighten up these gloomy long winter days! I instantly feel a lot better in a cheery, happy yellow like this one but you can look for any other color that is your favorite and see how much your mood might improve when you wear a coat in that favorite color of yours.

Do you mix colors in unexpected ways? If you do, what are they, I would love to find out – leave a comment for me below!

Wearing: Zara coat (old, very similar here and here); Asos tie waist sweatshirt (only $12!); River Island beanie (similar here); Monki jeans (similar herehere and here); Celine shoes.

What an unexpected color mix; who knew these would look so good together?

Hi! Thanks so much for your comment. I really do like how these two look together too!
