How I styled a sheer skirt!

I realize I may be posting this a little late in the game as summer has officially ended even though we’ve still had decent weather here (and the last couple days felt like summer might have come back LOL). But we shot these photos some time ago and wanted to share them with you anyways so they wouldn’t go to waste. And also realizing now that likely is my last summer outfit post… ah, sad face.

Stepping out of my comfort zone with this skirt for sure! I mean… people were looking at me when I wore it, to say the least LOL! But I love how it adds that edge to a look and is so different than what anyone of us normally wears.

Would you ever wear a sheer skirt like this? Again, thinking outside the box here guys. I really wouldn’t make it my regular outfit option but I wanted to try something new and it was a perfect medium to do that. I couldn’t find an identical skirt to mine as I got mine beginning of the summer and it was already on sale at that point, but I found almost identical ones and linked them below. They have the same overall feel of a sheer skirt and are in the same pencil skirt style but just with slightly different patterns.

I’ve been wearing graphic t-shirts all summer so it was a natural for me that I grabbed one of my favorite t-shirts I got this summer – this blue tee with a pop of yellow. And yes to the slogan on the tee, right? Just ‘say yes’ 🙂 It fits a little more snuggly than I usually like for a tee, but here it works just fine. A looser fitting tee here would have not looked good with the skirt; it would be too much fabric I wouldn’t know what to do with 🙂

On a different note, are you team graphic t-shirts? I haven’t always been but in recent years that’s all I want to wear in the summer. They are perfect to pair with virtually anything – jeans, shorts, flowy skirt, leggings, you name it. They can look as casual as you want them to or elevate a graphic t-shirt with an addition of some killer blazer over it and a pair of heels and you’ve got yourself a more dressy look (yet, still cool and edgy) for a night out. Seriously, I can’t praise graphic tees enough! I wear mine all year long because I always get so hot so easily that in wintertime I have to be able to take off my sweater or shirt and just stay in a t-shirt that’s underneath.

Wearing: Shein graphic t-shirt; Nasty Gal sheer skirt (similar here, here and here); Linea Paolo shoes; Zara bag (similar here).
