I wanted to show you this mixed patterns and textures look that we shot a few weekends ago before the whole social distancing thing came to life. It was so windy that day as you can see and actually pretty cold too! Probably one of the coldest days this whole winter that we actually went out to shoot some content.
But I do love the mix of textures and patterns here. I added my bag last and wasn’t entirely sold on it and how it added yet another pattern here but in the end I really do like the whole thing together!
My glitter sneakers are one of the more recent purchases via The Real Real. Have I said this enough already? – I do love sneakers! Especially hightops! No other footwear style does it for me as hightop sneakers! Remember this recent post about making more sustainable fashion choices? That’s one of them LOL – getting a pair of shoes at a consignment store and giving these beauties a second life because they damn DESERVE it! 🙂
I like how the sweater has these different animal patterns mixed together and then on top of it, the florals on my sheer black blouse add another texture here and this 3D effect if you will. It may seem too busy for some, but I like that I have all these different textures and patterns here!
On a different note… How y’all navigating through this ‘new normal’ we’re living in right now? I have my highs and lows in this whole situation. So many unknowns and the more you read on it and scroll thru your Facebook feed, the more you just wanna pull your hair out 🙂 Truth! So I stopped doing that almost entirely because it only gave me more anxiety. All we can do is trust our instincts and do what is best for us and our families. But I can’t help and think about long term effects of all of this as well – like how it impacts virtually EVERYTHING in our lives. How many businesses are now losing money, how many people are unemployed and with no savings… How many families will struggle (and are already struggling) and when will all these people be able to go back to work to support their families? These are only a few things of the bigger picture ‘worries’ that go through my head but I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer over here so I will stop at that!
All these unknowns are so scary but in this very moment all I know is that we are trying to stay positive regardless and just take it day by day and find the joy and silver linings EVERY SINGLE DAY to get us through that!
Hope you are all healthy and well and thank YOU for coming to visit me on here! 🙂
